DeltaCloud is the platform layer beneath every Delta Scan engagement. It is not a file viewer: it is the operational record of your assets, kept current, versioned, and accessible to the people who need it, and walled off from those who do not. It has been in continuous development since 2021, runs in production across mining, energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors, and underpins every Delta Scan deliverable, from a 60-metre bridge inspection to a 1,600 megawatt power station digital twin.

Four core modules. One platform.
Engineering Audits, Survey & Mapping, Scan to BIM, and Asset Intelligence. The four modules cover the full Delta Scan engagement spectrum and share the same underlying data, access model, and audit trail.

Engineering Audits
Structural condition assessments, defect-mapped 3D models, severity-classified findings, and Pr Eng signed reports. Audit results are versioned epoch by epoch so condition trends over time are visible and quantifiable.

Survey & Mapping
Topographic surveys, photogrammetric reconstructions, orthomosaics, contour mapping, and volumetric calculation. Capture is positioned by RTK GNSS, processed against permanent ground control, and signed off by a SAGI-approved surveyor.

Scan to BIM
Reality capture converted into parametric BIM and CAD models. Multi-sensor capture (LiDAR + photogrammetry), semantic tagging at component level, and integration with Revit, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D workflows. In-house architectural team supports council submissions.

Asset Intelligence
Map-based dashboards, defect-level AI analytics, condition trending, and integration with the operator's asset management system. RoadAI output, Shaft Analyser audits, and Omnispect annotations all surface through this module.
One platform, four stakeholder workflows.
DeltaCloud is built for the people who own the asset, the people who maintain it, the people who insure it, and the people who consult on it. Role-based access lets each stakeholder see what they need without exposing what they do not.
Asset owners
Operators, infrastructure owners, mining and energy companies
DeltaCloud gives operating teams a single, current, accurate engineering record of every Delta Scan engagement against their assets. Maintenance plans against quantitative data. Capital budgeting against trend lines. Shutdown work scoped against precise defect locations. The records persist through team rotations and contractor changes.
Engineers and consultants
Internal engineering teams, external EPC firms, design consultants
Engineers receive deliverables that integrate directly into Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Navisworks. Point clouds, BIM models, and inspection reports surface as live datasets rather than file dumps. Project teams work against the canonical model rather than emailing CAD attachments back and forth.
Insurers and loss adjusters
Underwriting teams, claim handlers, forensic investigators
Loss event capture is delivered with chain-of-custody documentation, methodology statements, and Pr Eng signatures. The 3D model and damage quantification supports reserve setting, claim negotiation, and where applicable, subrogation. Audit logging preserves the evidentiary trail.
Auditors, regulators, and assurance
External auditors, regulatory inspectors, GISTM reviewers
Guest access lets external assurance functions view the relevant project record without granting them broader system permissions. Audit trail logging means the regulator or external auditor can see who accessed which data, when, and what they did with it. Useful for GISTM TSF reviews, year-end stocktake assurance, and regulatory submissions.
A deliverable, not a data dump.
Every engagement climbs the same four rungs. The value is not the scan; it is the signed engineering decision at the top.

How a DeltaCloud engagement runs.
The same disciplined sequence runs for every engagement: scope, capture, process, commission, lifecycle. The detail of each step is matched to the asset class and the contracted level of service.
Scoping and workspace setup
A DeltaCloud workspace is created for the engagement. Access roles are defined: who has read, write, admin, and guest permissions. Audit logging is enabled from day one. The capture scope, deliverable schedule, and lifecycle update cadence are all configured before the first field day.
Capture and ingestion
Field captured data is uploaded to DeltaCloud through the secure ingestion pipeline. Datasets are validated against expected geometry, file integrity, and metadata completeness before processing begins. Failed captures are flagged for re-capture before they enter the engineering pipeline.
Processing and engineering review
Capture data is processed through the appropriate Delta Scan pipeline: photogrammetric reconstruction, SLAM drift correction, AI defect detection, BIM modelling. A registered professional engineer reviews and signs off the deliverable before commissioning to the client workspace.
Client commissioning
The deliverable is commissioned to the client workspace with role-based access live. Stakeholder briefings introduce the platform to operations, engineering, and external consulting teams. Integration with the client's existing asset management or BIM environment is configured.
Lifecycle update and retention
For engagements with a lifecycle service component, scheduled re-capture and update workflows keep the engineering record current as the asset changes. Audit logs retain the version history. Long-term retention is contracted per the client's data governance requirements.
Built for high-consequence data.
Engineering data on critical infrastructure is high-value, sometimes commercially sensitive, occasionally regulated. DeltaCloud is built for clients who treat their engineering record as a strategic asset, not a folder of files.
Role-based access at every level
Permissions configured at project, folder, and individual asset level. Read, write, admin, and guest roles. Permissions inherit and override predictably. Where a client has multiple internal teams (engineering, HSE, maintenance, finance), each team sees only what is in scope for their role.
Tamper-evident audit logging
Every access, view, download, and modification is logged with user identity, timestamp, IP address, and action detail. Audit logs are write-once and tamper-evident. Logs can be exported for client compliance reporting or external audit verification.
Data residency and sovereignty
Data residency can be constrained to specific jurisdictions for clients with sovereignty requirements. South African operators can require POPIA-compliant in-country storage; international clients can require EU residency where GDPR applies. Default residency is South Africa with encrypted secondary backup.
POPIA and GDPR compliant
DeltaCloud operates under POPIA and GDPR compliant data handling for any engagement involving personal data (e.g. capture footage that may include personnel imagery). Privacy by design at platform level rather than per-engagement add-on.
Secure ingestion and exfiltration controls
Field capture uploads are encrypted in transit and verified for file integrity on arrival. Download permissions are role-based and logged. Bulk export is restricted to admin role only. For very sensitive client deployments, exfiltration alerts can be configured to notify on unusual download patterns.
Long-term integrity guarantees
Engagement records are retained per the contracted retention period, typically 7 to 10 years. Versioned storage with integrity checksums means the record at year 9 is verifiably the record that was commissioned at year 0. Useful for regulatory submissions and litigation that may be filed years after the original engagement.

DeltaCloud questions.
Is DeltaCloud a separate product I license?
No. DeltaCloud is the platform every Delta Scan engagement is delivered through. It is part of the engagement, not a separate licence. There is no separate subscription, but the access scales with the engagement scope and stakeholder count.
What if I want my data hosted in my own environment?
Private deployment options exist for clients with sovereignty or sector-specific requirements. The deployment model is on-engagement basis, typically requiring a minimum contract scope. Discuss at scoping.
How is access pricing structured?
Access is structured by stakeholder count and engagement type. A standard engagement includes operator engineering team access plus guest access for nominated external stakeholders. Wider stakeholder rollouts (e.g. provincial-scale road authority access for RoadAI deliverables) are scoped separately.
Can I export everything if I leave?
Yes. There is no data lock-in. On request, full project export is provided in industry-standard formats (LAS, RVT, IFC, GeoTIFF, etc.) with audit log and metadata. Engagement contracts include this as a standard term.
Can I see a demo?
Yes. We run guided demos for prospective clients tailored to their sector and asset class. The demo uses anonymised production data so you see the actual platform behaviour, not a slide deck. Typically 30 to 45 minutes.
