Scope
Delta Scan began monthly auditing of Cape Town landfill sites in February 2023, and has continued throughout 2023 and into 2024. The work demonstrates that technology choice and data interpretation matter as much as the underlying equipment.
Services
The field workflow combines aerial photogrammetry with LiDAR, captured by experienced drone pilots, ground control specialists and processing technicians. The team can capture two landfill sites in a single day with full audit reports delivered within 48 hours. Prior to engaging Delta Scan the client had concerns about the quality of reports from previous aerial operators, which often failed to match outputs from traditional surveying methods.
Outcome
Results are hosted in Delta Cloud, the company's analysis platform. The system provides historical data visualisation, autonomous volumetric calculations, height measurements, slope analysis, and temporal change comparisons using heat maps and slider tools. The client now has a reliable, repeatable audit trail across all sites.
